Image: Title: Risk-Informed, Performance-Based Evaluation of Local and Regional Surface and Groundwater Hydrology using Alternative Conceptual Models Collaborative effort between College of Engineering and the Department of Geology (Franklin College of Arts & Sciences) PI: C. Brock Woodson, College of Engineering Co-PI: Adam M. Milewski, Department of Geology (Franklin College of Arts & Sciences) Duration: October 2024 – September 2027 Support: ~$550,000 Opportunity: Ph.D. Student Support (12-month) Synopsis: This project continues the development of a regional and local groundwater model for southeast Georgia and surrounding areas. We will examine the role of groundwater flows across the region for future climate and coastal development scenarios including the effective dispersion of scalars within the groundwater system. The model permits us to quantify the fate of groundwater and solutes in the system.
