The summit will feature a series of talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with some of the leading experts in the field. It’s an opportunity to engage in conversations about the latest innovations, best practices, and the policy landscape surrounding CCS technologies. We believe that the exchange of ideas at this summit will help build stronger collaborations across sectors. The summit will also play a key role in helping establish the Southeast—and Georgia in particular—as a national model for carbon capture and storage. As a state with a unique combination of industrial strength and a growing commitment to sustainability, Georgia is poised to be a leader in this area and is one of the reasons for establishing the Georgia First Program within our department and the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at UGA. Georgia First is the Georgia Resources Innovation and Sustainability Ecosystem with a focus on key areas like critical minerals, energy generation, environmental stewardship, geohealth, and resource and energy storage. We accomplish this by developing our students, enhancing innovative research, creating collaborative industry partnerships, and building connections with State entities, all with a focus on inclusive excellence.
