Image: The Department of Geology - UGA came together at Geological Society of America Connects 2025 in San Antonio, Texas — reuniting alumni, students, and faculty to celebrate discovery, collaboration, and the evolving landscape of geoscience. Researchers presented work spanning the full spectrum of Earth systems science from Earth materials and hydrologic processes to critical minerals, environmental stewardship, energy resources and storage, geomicrobiology, and geohealth. The breadth of our students’ work demonstrated UGA Geology’s vibrant commitment to innovation, sustainability, and advancing geoscientific knowledge.
