Geology Graduate Student For her Master’s research, Tracy Chukwuma is using advanced x-ray micro-CT image processing to provide more insights into the pore-scale evolution of rock properties induced by mineral reactions with CO2-rich brine. This work benefits a larger effort led by Dr. Beckingham at Auburn University within the SECARB-USA project, contributing to better characterize potential geological candidates for the development of carbon capture and storage operations in the Southeastern United States that are needed to move toward a low-carbon future.
